Pausing by the door with a small bundle of firewood for tomorrows breakfast, he wipes his bare feet on the mat. He's not sure where it came from but he's pretty certain he can guess who's responsible for it.
"Guess what?" When Kurt sets his drink down Logan picks it up for a sniff and taste just to see what he's drinking. "Jean-Paul wants to watch your rope skills," he smiles a self satisfied smile.
[This has got to be the most bizarre thing he's ever texted anyone over, but if someone in this stupid town is going to be able to understand it's Kurt. He doesn't even know where to start, and it takes him several attempts before typing out something and sending it.]
hey so i'm out of the woods with the whole death flu stuff uh i also talked to Varian i may or may not have completely screwed things up honestly can't tell right now it's kind of freaking me out
[He feels like a weak, pathetic idiot for reaching out, but that's better than the alternative of being on his own right now. And Kurt said he could, at any time of the day or night. He hates that he has to take him up on that offer, though. He wishes he was strong enough to not need to.]
Long shot, but - you and yours wouldn't consider, I don't know, leaving the border of the woods that is constantly being invaded by ravening hordes for the duration, would you? There are ton of empty apartments here, and I have extra bedrooms in mine.
It has been a little bit since we spoke, Kurt, and I wish this was... more pleasant. But I recall something about Laura from past conversations, and you are someone I trust to speak with about this.
I'm concerned about her, and her state of mind. The bear's game... is wearing on her already. She was asking publicly about being incarcerated, for her own safety and others. I don't know if you saw it.
[ It's a little after her last message to Kurt that he's going to get another one from her but... that's good, right? To not completely cut herself off from everyone. But she's also just not sure who else to ask about something like this. ]
Kurt you've been here for a considerable amount of time. Do you know anything about a bottle with black liquid in it? It almost looks like ink?
[Kurt isn't someone Varian would normally reach out to. He can't shake the feeling that the man doesn't like him, after the whole... forest fire debacle and all. And honestly, Varian couldn't blame him. It's not like they've ever spent time together where things haven't gone to hell in a handbasket. And he's not always looked out after Fern's best interests, either. Something Kurt is very much invested in.]
I'm probably the last person you want to talk to and I get that. But I wanted to apologise all the same. I want to say who attacked you in the junkyard wasn't me, but that wouldn't be true. It's just someone I've been trying not to be. Guess I failed on that one.
As soon as I'm better, I'll make sure those robot parts are destroyed.
[He doesn't even ask how they work. For the first time in his life, he doesn't want to know how something works. They're clearly used for utterly evil purposes and he wants nothing to do with them. You have to draw a line somewhere, and wholescale slaughter is his. ]
[It takes him a little longer than promised to contact Kurt after the cave debacle. He's been putting it off, in all honestly. This is going to be a complicated conversation and though he knows he needs to have it- and knows Kurt is probably the best person in the entire town to come to about this- it's still terrifying. He's been keeping his emotions buried for months and now they're starting to see the light of day he doesn't quite know how to handle them all. ]
[ Inside Kurt's mailbox, there is a nondescript white envelope with his name on it. Inside, there is a colorful pog, with a message written on the back in silver fine-tipped sharpie. There's no stamp on the envelope, implying that it was hand delivered rather than mailed. ]
it's been real. it's been weird. it's been real weird.
see you on the flip side! – GP
[ The pog is enchanted with dream magic, so that it can be given as a gift, but cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed. ]
[Honestly she would have liked to send this message sooner but with the mess that been October she hadn't been able to keep up with all the horrid things that had happened. It hadn't taken long for her to put together who the beast that had taken Varian's leg was, she had seen Kurt teleport back in April. She knew the sound and she recognized the smoke.
She knew he had been a friend to Varian and she had a strong feeling that what happened wasn't his choice. She also knew what it was like to blame oneself for friends of loved ones being hurt. Which is why she's reaching out today.]
Hey Kurt. It's Ruby. I just wanted to check how you were holding up.
